Pathways To STEM Nevada

Pathways To STEM Nevada

Pathways to STEM Nevada is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) that encourages students to pursue science, technology, engineering and math fields and enter the Nevada STEM workforce.

The Challenge:

Pathways to STEM wanted to offer a searchable database of their 135+ STEM programs available to all K-12 students and teachers, undergraduate, and graduate students within the state. They also wanted to increase access to STEM learning opportunities within Nevada for all students, including women and those from underrepresented minority groups, as well as first generation, college-going students.

Essentially, they wanted the Pathways to STEM website to be the place people regularly come back to on their journey to obtaining a STEM career in Nevada.

Our Solution:

The finished Pathways to STEM Nevada website is a breeze to use. The navigation is satisfying and engaging with an interactive pathway marked by pit stops along the way. Color coded sections make it easy for the user to know where to go on their journey. The programs are filtered by type, availability and county with a simple grid display of results. The website also encourages submission of new programs with an intuitive step-by-step form that allows for file uploads and image attachments, then auto-submits all the information together to a Pathways admin for review and approval.

The Results

  • The Pathways to STEM Nevada has become a great resource for candidates searching for a STEM career in the state
  • The website plays a vital role in bridging the gap between qualified student applicants and Nevada's STEM workforce
